LABUAN BAJO - The West Manggarai Police, NTT, has set two alert statuses related to securing the security situation and public order (kamtibmas) in Labuan Bajo.

"We have lowered Alert One to Alert Two. This is related to threats from several groups stating associations or alliances that they will take actions that will disrupt security and security," said West Manggarai Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Felli Hermanto, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 1.

The determination of the security status is related to the existence of threat information in the action plan from the Association of Tourism Actors and Individuals of Labuan Bajo tourism actors that will affect the condition of West Manggarai security and security as a super priority tourism area.

Felli said as a super priority tourism area, national vital objects in Labuan Bajo such as Komodo Airport are the main focus of protection by officers. National vital objects must be protected because they involve the lives of many people.

Because of that, he said, the police carried out security, including the three residents who were involved in the action who had attempted to enter the vital object.

"Because to avoid the seat or boycott and there is resistance to the officers on guard, we secure it. There are no damaged facilities," he said.

"There is no permit, they are wild, there is no notification, everything is on the rails, we are walking on the rails," he added.

In the action plan that will last until August 31, 2022, the West Manggarai Police are ready to deploy 1,000 personnel who also come from the NTT Police and the Rangers Police for full security of the super priority tourism destinations.

He stressed that the police are trying to protect and provide protection to the community.

"The safety of the people is the highest law in this country," Felli said.
