COVID-19 Update As Of August 1st: New Cases 3,696, Active Cases Drop To 47,809

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 113,030 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 3,696 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,210,794 people and active cases have fallen by 894 to 47,809 cases", said Ministry of Health data, Monday, August 1.

The number of recovered cases today increased by 4,579 people, bringing the total to 6,005,981 recovered. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 11 cases and totaled 157,004 people.

The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 1,486 cases and a total of 1,332,327 cases. Followed by West Java which has 827 new cases with a total of 1,135,007 cases. Banten has 531 new cases and a total of 312,273 cases. East Java has 293 new cases and a total of 585,536 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 2,700 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 530 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 312 recovered cases, and Banten with an additional 289 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 103,751,537.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 8.56 percent", it wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 5,092 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

Furthermore, currently, 202,485,668 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 170,084,402 the second dose of vaccination. Then, the third dose of vaccination was 56,124,804. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
