JAKARTA - The Minister of Communications and Information Technology (Menkominfo) Johnny G. Plate denied that he was wrong because a number of online gambling sites registered as Electronic System Operators (PSE).
This was conveyed by Johnny in response to the registration of several sites such as Ludo Dream, Topfun Domino Qiu Qiu, MVP Domino, Higgs Domino Island, Pop Poker, Pop Gaple, and others. Even though it is registered as a PSE, the site that is suspected of providing online gambling services will be brushed off.
"No one has missed out. No online gambling has been opened in Indonesia because online gambling violates the law," Johnny told reporters at the KPU Central Office, Jalan Imam Bonjol, Monday, August 1.
"So nothing has been disclosed related to online gambling and Kominfo is working to clean up, including online gambling, radicalism, terrorism, pornography in particular child pornography, and other trades," he continued.
Johnny emphasized that Indonesia is a state of law. So, everyone must obey.
"Enforcement of this rule is our partisanship and consistency as a state of law that stipulates the law as our commander. The law is our commander," said the man who also serves as Secretary General of the NasDem Party.
Furthermore, the Minister of Communication and Information emphasized that his party opened the widest possible space for electronic system operators. "However, yes, the legality and the rules or laws that apply are both we follow and we obey," he said.
The Ministry of Communication and Informatics has blocked a number of sites and services since Saturday, July 29 yesterday because they did not register as PSE in Indonesia. Those blocked are Yahoo Search, Paypal, to online gaming services Steam, Dota 2, Counter-Strike Global Offensive and digital distribution platform Origin.
