JAKARTA - Head of the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP2MI), Benny Rhamdani, said collaboration with various parties is a way to accelerate the placement of Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) abroad.
"The state can't run alone, it is impossible for the state to be able to answer the huge job opportunities abroad. So, this cooperation and collaboration are important and strategic", said Benny in Badung, Bali, Wednesday, July 27.
BP2MI will hold an Employment Business Meeting in Bali from July 25–27 2022 to bring together Indonesian migrant worker placement companies (P3MI), overseas employment agencies, Indonesian representatives abroad, and other relevant parties.
In the meeting which lasted for 3 days, the participants explored opportunities for cooperation under the intergovernmental (G to G) and also inter-private (P to P) schemes. This includes exchanging information on sending Indonesian migrant workers, and related regulations.
BP2MI at the meeting also confirmed to overseas employment agencies that the Indonesian migrant workers sent were skilled and had met the standards.
"To the employment agency, we want to assure you that the state will not play games. The state will be serious, focused, place skilled and professional workers, who have expertise according to the chosen job, and have sufficient foreign language skills", said Benny when delivering his remarks at the closing ceremony.
Therefore, he asked overseas employment agencies not to hesitate to use the services of workers from Indonesia because BP2MI guarantees their expertise and skills.
"Don't have the slightest doubt, because for the state, for the Indonesian government, PMIs are our dignity, so it is impossible for us to place workers who do not meet the expectations of employment agencies abroad", said the Head of BP2MI as quoted from Antara.
