SEMARANG - The Semarang Customs and Excise Supervision and Service Office revealed a case of a fake cigarette excise band manufacturer located in Semarang City, Central Java.

Head of the Semarang Customs and Excise Supervision and Service Office, Sucipto said, in the disclosure, three perpetrators were arrested along with a fake cigarette excise printing machine.

The three suspects who were detained were ER, EHS, and MM, respectively. The three of them each play a role as a printer, designer, and person in charge of receiving orders.

"The perpetrators have made designs, but have not had time to print them," he said in Semarang, Antara, Wednesday, July 27.

In the disclosure, he said, officers also secured several sheets of cigarette excise templates to be printed.

"One template sheet contains 125 excise stamps that can be printed," he said.

According to him, if it is successfully printed and circulated, it will have an impact on the community. "Especially if the print quality is good, people will find it very difficult to distinguish," he added.

The suspects, he continued, were charged with Law No. 39 of 2007 on excise.

The case was then transferred to the Semarang District Attorney for prosecution, before finally being tried.
