JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya said that the regulation of working hours in Jakarta is still only a proposal, so it still needs to be finalized.

Deputy Director of Traffic (Wadirlantas) Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Rusdy Pramana said his party was still discussing the proposal internally.

"Coordination steps have been taken. Of course, this will be followed up, for example, next week we will have a meeting and invite related parties," Rusdy said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 26.

Rusdy added that the coordination step with related parties was carried out to gather every input submitted regarding the policy.

It is hoped that the plan from the police to regulate working hours to break down traffic jams can be more mature.

"This is called a proposal, an idea that we must discuss with each relevant agency. There is the Department of Transportation, to the Ministry of Manpower and the Ministry of PAN-RB perhaps," said Rusdy.

Previously, the Director of Traffic of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Latif Usman prepared a number of programs to overcome congestion in Jakarta.

One of them is that the departure time of workers is arranged so that they do not pile up at the same time.

The proposal, he said, was based on the results of an analysis related to Jakarta's traffic jams at vulnerable hours in the morning.

From his observations, the mobility of workers and students departed at the same time, resulting in congestion on the road.

"From 06.00 to 09.00 WIB in the morning, Jakarta is very busy. Now, 09.00 to 14.00 in the afternoon it is a bit quiet. I mean, at nine this morning there are arrangements for community activities," said Latif in Jakarta, Wednesday (20/7).
