KALSEL - The Office of the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) in North Hulu Sungai (HSU) has curbed counterfeit and expired beauty cosmetics in Amuntai City and its surroundings.

Head of the POM Center in HSU Regency, Bambang Hery Priyanto, said the control was initiated by the Provincial, Regency or City POM Halls, which were implemented simultaneously throughout Indonesia.

"We involve the Health Office and the Trade Industry Office in controlling this cosmetic raid," said Bambang at Amuntai, HSU, South Kalimantan, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, July 26.

Bambang said the raid on fake and expired cosmetics would be carried out by his side for the next two weeks at HSU.

Bambang said, the results of a temporary search at various cosmetic shops, it turned out that there were still two shops selling dangerous cosmetic ingredients because without a marketing permit (TIE).

The Balai POM then provided socialization to warn shop owners to stop their actions that could harm consumers.

"To the two shops that still sell cosmetics without a distribution permit, we secure the goods and we will destroy them later, while the expired products are given a warning to return them to the distributor so that the goods are replaced with new ones as soon as possible," he explained.

To the HSU community, Bambang wants to be more careful in buying cosmetic ingredients, first check the label packaging before buying the product

"Check the distribution permit first, the expiration date because illegal cosmetic ingredients can have a negative impact on skin irritation and health if used, even in the long term it can cause cancer," he said.
