JIS Tribune Barrier Collapsed, Deputy Governor Of DKI Relaxed: It's Normal, Enthusiasm To Have A New Stadium

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria responded casually to the incident of the collapse of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) tribune barrier during the Grand Launching yesterday.

According to Riza, this is the spirit of the community, in this case the supporters of the Persija Jakarta club for the new stadium owned by Jakarta.

"The collapse is because it's normal. Having a new stadium, be enthusiastic," said Riza at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Monday, July 25.

Upon the collapse of the fence between the stands and the field, Riza admitted that the DKI Provincial Government will evaluate the construction of the building and the mechanism for activities at the international-class stadium. He also asked people who visited JIS to help take care of him.

"This is a lesson for all of us to maintain and care for. We will arrange the capacity later so that it does not accumulate at one point, so that the weight can be less," he said.

The collapse of the grandstand barrier has also been responded to by the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan. The former Minister of Education and Culture said this was due to the enthusiasm of the people, especially supporters of Persija or The Jakmania.

"The fence (collapsed, ed), I think the enthusiasm was quite high," said Anies at a press conference at JIS.

He did not want to talk further about the collapse of the fence which caused the officer to carry The Jakmania as he fainted.

Anies invited the President Director of PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) Widi Amanasto to answer further. However, he said this incident is expected to be a lesson for many parties.
