More, Special Detachment 88 Police Arrest 4 Terrorists In North Sumatra

JAKARTA - Densus 88 Anti-terror has again arrested four terrorist suspects. They were arrested in two areas.

"Yes, that's right, the arrests were in Riau and North Sumatra," said Karo Penmas of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan in his statement, Monday, July 25.

Specifically in the Riau area, one terrorist suspect was arrested. Meanwhile, in North Sumatra Province, three people were arrested.

With this arrest, a temporary total of 17 terrorist suspects have been arrested. Because, previously 13 people who were involved in the terrorism network were arrested in the Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (NAD) region.

"The total number of 17 people. Arrested from 3 provinces of Aceh, North Sumatra and Riau," said Ramadhan.

For information, there are 13 terrorist suspects in the Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (NAD) region. They are a network of Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) and Jamaah Anshorut Daulah (JAD).

For the JI group, said Ramadhan, there were 11 people who were arrested. They had the initials ES, RU, DN, JU, SY, MF, RS, FE, SU, AKH, and MH. They also have different roles in the group.

As for the JAD group, two people were arrested. Both have the initials RI and MA.

"The RI and MA suspects acted as facilitators against JAD Medan members who committed suicide bombings at the Medan Polrestabes in 2019," said Ramadhan.
