CFW Controversy At Zebra Cross Dukuh Atas, Observers Value Anies Support Is Political

JAKARTA - The Citayem Fashion Week (CFW) event which was previously pioneered by SCBD youth (Sudirman, Citayam, Bojong, Depok) in the Dukuh Atas area, Central Jakarta, is now starting to be eroded with certain interests.

Moreover, the catwalk at the zebra cross, where pedestrians are currently crossing, is often used by celebrities and other social media activists. So it started to cause pros and cons within the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.

In fact, the Central Jakarta Metro Police also banned fashion shows held at the zebra cross in the Dukuh Atas area, Tanah Abang.

Responding to various problems that arose at the CFW in the Dukuh Atas area, Central Jakarta, a public policy observer named Trubus Rahardian assessed that the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan and Ridwan Kamil who came to the Dukuh Atas area were suspected of political interests or political imagery.

"In my opinion, Anies' presence there is for electability, so that he is supported to get the support of young people. Seeking popularity in 2024, especially among teenagers," Trubus told reporters, Monday, July 25.

Trubus said that the teenagers were early voters or beginners. Moreover, the presence of SCBD teenagers in Dukuh Atas violated Regional Regulation Number 8 of 2007 concerning public order (Tibum).

"Because they are on the road using the sidewalk, it is the same as violating the road traffic law. That is if it is by law," he said.

Previously, the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, emphasized that the Citayam Fashion Show, which is often held in the afternoon and into the evening, at the zebra cross in the Dukuh Atas area, Sudirman, Central Jakarta, is not prohibited.

This seems to break the statement from the Central Jakarta City Government which said that the "SCBD" youth catwalk (Sudirman, Citayam, Bojonggede, Depok) in the crossing area was prohibited.

"Public policy must have a solution, if you really want it to be held there, Dukuh Atas and its surroundings, it is carried out once a week, not every day. Well managed, like a car free day (CFD)," he said.

The government's task in this case, continued Trubus, is to make policies so that the public can express their expressions.

"Anies should not only support, but must provide facilities and funding (for) young people. Creative ones are given funds, not only politically, he wants to appear visible," he said.

The Citayem Fashion Week (CFW) activity in the Dukuh Atas area, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, began to receive criticism from the Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria. According to him, the Fashion Show activity was considered disturbing public order.

"Don't go on the street if you hold a fashion show, it will disturb public order," said Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria, to reporters in the Dukuh Atas area, Central Jakarta, Saturday, July 23, evening.

The Deputy Governor assessed that the fashion show in the middle of the road was very disturbing activities for people to walk and cross. Not to mention the two-wheeled vehicles parked on the sidewalk to disturb pedestrians.

"Bicycle lanes are used to park motorcycles, it's very disturbing," he said.

Seeing the increasing number of CFW visitors in the Dukuh Atas area, the provincial government plans to organize and relocate the SCBD youth trend to other places.

For example, in the National Monument (Monas) area, Senayan, Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM) and the Sarinah courtyard.

"The four locations can later be used as fashion week, so we can also meet there. The important thing is not to do activities in the middle of the road and it is very disturbing and dangerous," he explained.

Furthermore, the Deputy Governor of DKI also supports the Central Jakarta Metro Police which states that the function of the zebra crossing is a place for pedestrians to cross. Instead of being a place for catwalk fashion show activities.
