WEST LOMBOK - The West Lombok Police continue to investigate the Nusa Penida Passenger Motor Ship fire that killed one resident. The National Police Forensic Laboratory Center team was also involved in solving the cause of the fire.

The West Lombok Police together with the Puslabfor Polri team conducted an investigation of the crime scene to determine the cause of the fire. West Lombok Police Chief AKBP Wirasto Adi Nugroho said the team had taken samples to be tested in the Police forensic laboratory.

This step is taken to find out whether there is an indication of negligence or not. "Regarding whether there are indications of negligence or not, we are still waiting for the results of the investigation," said Wirasto.

"It is suspected that KMP Nusa Penida caught fire due to being hit by sparks from the welding process during docking for maintenance," said Wirasto.
