JAKARTA - The COVID-19 Handling Task Force (Satgas) informed that the recipients of the booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Indonesia increased by 444,903 people on Saturday, bringing the current total to 54,335,921 people.

According to data from the COVID-19 Task Force in Jakarta, Saturday, quoted by ANTARA, it is also known that the number of recipients of the complete dose of vaccine increased by 63,732 people, bringing the total to 169,783,164 people.

The total number of residents who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination has also increased by 59,709 people, bringing the total to 202,163,392.

Based on data from the COVID-19 Handling Task Force, the target for vaccination is 208,265,720 people.

The task force also informed that positive cases of COVID-19 in Indonesia increased by 4,943 people on Saturday, bringing the current total to 6,164,271 people.

In this regard, the COVID-19 Handling Task Force reminded the public to continue to strengthen health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19, considering that the COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing.

The COVID-19 Handling Task Force also reminded the public to complete vaccinations from the first dose to the booster dose.

Pulmonary specialist Dr. dr. Fathiyah Isbaniah, Sp. P (K) invites the public to equip themselves with COVID-19 vaccinations to booster doses to reduce the risk of post-COVID-19 syndrome.

"One way to reduce the risk of 'long' COVID-19 or post-COVID-19 syndrome is by vaccination, from the first dose to the booster dose," he said.

The Head of the Infection Division of the Friendship Hospital, explained several things that were risk factors for the post-COVID-19 syndrome, namely age over 50 years, comorbidities, hypertension, obesity, psychiatric conditions, immunosuppressive diseases, and the severity of symptoms during the acute phase of COVID-19. 19.

"Thus, there are at least two efforts that can be made to reduce the risk of long-term COVID-19. First, if a person has comorbidities or comorbidities, they must be controlled and the second is to equip themselves with vaccinations," he said.
