The 8.2 Kilometer Access Route To The Patimban Port Has Been Completed

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing or PUPR revealed that 8.2 kilometers (km) of Access Road to Patimban Port has been completed and ready to operate.

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said the Patimban Port Access Road construction project was a follow-up to the meeting between President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and the former Prime Minister of Japan for the 2007-2008 period Yusuo Fakuda as Chairman of the Japan-Indonesia Association some time ago.

"This access road is a concrete manifestation of the bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and Japan with a loan scheme of Rp 1.2 trillion," said Minister Basuki as quoted from Antara, Tuesday, November 10.

The PUPR Ministry has completed the construction of an 8.2 Km Access Road to Patimban Port. Patimban Port as a container port is one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN) to reduce the burden on the already very high Tanjung Priok Port. Currently, the construction of the access road to Patimban has been completed and ready to operate.

The existence of Patimban Port, which is supported by the access road to the north coast (pantura) of Java Island, is expected to increase export activities originating from industrial areas around Cikarang-Cibitung-Karawang to Cikampek, as well as smoothen the flow of national logistics.

In addition, it will cut industrial logistics costs, many of which are located in North West Java so as to increase the competitiveness of industrial estates in Indonesia in regional and international contexts.

The Patimban Port access road is built with 3 types of structures, most of which are elevated (flyovers) over rice fields with soft soil. The three types of structures are a pile slab of 5.9 km, a flyover of 1.6 km, and a flexible pavement of 0.7 km.

The construction of the Patimban Port access road was carried out with a Cooperation Operation (KSO) pattern between Shimizu Corporation and PT. PP and PT. Bangun Cipta Kontaktor under the responsibility of the DKI Jakarta - West Java National Road Implementation Center.

In addition, to support connectivity to Patimban Port, the PUPR Ministry is also preparing the construction of an access toll road to Patimban Port along the 37.05 Km that connects the Cikampek-Palimanan (Cipali) toll road section 89 + 475 with the Pantura section.

The Patimban Port Toll Access was initiated by a consortium between PT Jasa Marga with 50 percent ownership, PT Surya Semesta Internusa 25 percent, PT Daya Mulia Turangga 10 percent, and PT Jasa Sarana 10 percent with an investment value of IDR 7.5 trillion.

The Patimban Port access toll road, the construction plan will start in January 2022 and is targeted to operate in 2024.
