SUKABUMI - The joint SAR team succeeded in evacuating the bodies of the second (last) victim of the landslide in Kampung Jabongardu, Sukabumi Regency, West Java on Thursday, July 21 in the morning.

"Alhamdulillah, the last body on behalf of Abdullah (29), a resident of Jabonrawa Village, RT 4/3, Girijaya Village, Cidahu District, Sukabumi Regency was successfully evacuated on Thursday morning at around 01.20 western Indonesia time, after being buried by a landslide for several hours," said the Head Jakarta SAR Office as SAR Mission Coordinator (SMC) in SAR operations, Fazzli in Sukabumi, Thursday 21 July.

Meanwhile, the Public Relations Staff of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) of Sukabumi Regency, Ariel Solehudin, in this disaster management operation, assisted and joined the joint SAR team in the process of evacuating landslide victims under the coordination of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Sukabumi Regency.

The disaster that occurred in RT 3/3, Girijaya Village claimed two lives, namely Irwan (34) whose body was first found on Wednesday (20/7) afternoon, and Abdullah, whose body was just found. The two victims are construction workers having their address at Kampung Jabonrawa.

The landslide incident on Wednesday, July 20 afternoon, began when six construction workers who were building a house were shocked by a cliff with a height of six meters and a sudden landslide.

Of the six workers, three people managed to escape, while three other victims were buried by landslides, but one worker whose life was buried was rescued, while two other victims, namely Irwan and Abdullah were buried under the ground.

The two bodies have been evacuated and handed over to the victim's family for immediate burial and currently, the Cidahu District Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimcam) is still at the scene.
