The Robber Who Captured Souvenir Entrepreneurs In Menteng Apartment Turns Out To Be A Drug Dealer In Boncos Village, Palmerah

JAKARTA - The results of the investigation of the Central Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) revealed that four robbers of souvenir entrepreneurs with the initials AL, JR, ZS and PO were positive for using methamphetamine. In fact, two of the perpetrators turned out to be part of a drug trafficking circle in Boncos Village, West Jakarta.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Gunarto, told VOI, Wednesday, July 20, that during the action the perpetrators were also under the influence of drugs.

"The first three suspects arrested have the initials JR, ZS and FO. For the initial suspects ZS and FO, they are often in the drug village in Boncos, Palmerah, West Jakarta. They consume drugs every day," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Central Jakarta Metro Police AKBP Gunarto to VOI, Wednesday, July 20.

Although the police did not find evidence of drugs, the four suspects admitted that they often consumed drugs before carrying out the robbery.

"We did not find any evidence (drugs). However, from their confession, they used methamphetamine to be brave and confident," he said.

Even after getting the proceeds of the crime by draining the victim's money reaching Rp1 billion, the perpetrators immediately went to a drug party.

"From the confessions of the perpetrators, the proceeds of the crime were used to buy drugs. All of the suspects had positive urine tests for methamphetamine. From the perpetrator's cellphones, there were also many orders for drugs. These perpetrators were intense (routinely) ordering methamphetamine," he explained.

"We are still investigating the narcotics connection. We are still investigating the data, hopefully it can develop from this case. We will develop drug cases and we will develop fake ID cards," he said.

Previously, it was reported that the Central Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) arrested four suspects for the robbery and confinement that took place at the Menteng Park Apartment, Central Jakarta.

The victim is known to have the initials AD, a man who sells souvenirs. As a result of the violent theft, the victim suffered a total loss of Rp. 1 billion.

"One day after the incident, we arrested the suspects with the initials JR, ZS and PO. Two days later, the main suspect with the initials AL was also arrested," said AKBP Gunarto to VOI, Wednesday, July 20.
