Trump Urged His Wife And Son-in-law To Accept Defeat In The 2020 US Presidential Election

JAKARTA - The family of the President of the United States (US) Donald Trump is divided over the results of the 2020 US Presidential Election. On the part of his sons he urged Trump to continue to fight to win the presidential election, while the son-in-law Jared Kushner and his wife Melania Trump advised him to accept the victory of his rival, Joe Biden.

Quoting CNN, Monday, November 9, two sources, who were reluctant to give their identities, stated that Kushner, who is a senior Trump adviser, slowly advised Trump to give up. The first lady, according to a separate source with knowledge of the conversation, said privately it was time for Trump to accept the election defeat.

In contrast, two of Trump's sons, Donald Jr. Trump and Eric Trump, urged their allies to continue to pressure the results of the US Presidential Election. They also encouraged Republicans and their supporters to publicly reject the results.

Trump, who is now in Sterling, Virginia, has not denied the election results. But he continued to encourage his lawyers to file a lawsuit that would delay formal certification of election results. This implies that he is not ready to accept defeat.

Trump campaign spokesman Jason Miller denied Kushner had approached Trump to accept his defeat. "This story is not true," said Miller. "Jared has advised Trump to pursue all available remedies to ensure their accuracy."

In a statement from his campaign team Trump confirmed that Biden rushed to pretend to be the winner even though the competition was still going on. "I will not stop until the American People have the honest vote count they deserve," Trump said.

This explains that the legal battle for the presidential election campaign will soon begin. Meanwhile, Kate Bedingfield, deputy campaign manager for Bidenn-Harris, said that currently Biden and Trump's parties are both not communicating.

White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, who recently tested positive for COVID-19, has discussed next steps with the legal team. Meanwhile, some Republicans continue to urge Trump not to recognize Biden's victory. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, one of Trump's closest Senate allies, continues to say that Trump must not give up.

Joe Biden won the Electoral College vote of 290 to 214 in the Electoral College vote. The victory came as voters flatly rejected Donald Trump's rowdy leadership of Republican Party. Voters are now awaiting fulfillment of Biden's promise to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, restore the economy and heal a divided nation.
