Minister Of Religion Yaqut Promises More Than 5 Liters Zamzam Water For Indonesian Hajj Pilgrims

JAKARTA - Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas seeks future pilgrims to be able to bring home more than five liters of Zamzam water.

"This is what we are trying to convey to the Saudi government so that pilgrims can get a larger portion, of course, this is also related to flight regulations," Yaqut said as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, July 17.

Yaqut admitted that he had communicated with several parties including the Saudi Minister of Hajj regarding this matter.

After the 2022 hajj operations are completed and all pilgrims return to the country, Yaqut will again discuss a number of things, including the addition of zamzam water.

He responded that there were still pilgrims carrying Zamzam water in their luggage. Even though the congregation will certainly get five liters of zamzam when at the debarkation hajj dormitory.

"Why did the congregation force the zamzam into the suitcase, it's because five liters is too little," he added.

Moreover, considering the Indonesian Hajj pilgrims are different from the pilgrims from other countries.

"So if the five liters are only for the nuclear family, it has been used up, meanwhile for neighbors, families far away, they don't get it," concluded Yaqut.

Previously, the suitcases of some of the pilgrims who were going home were dismantled again because it was indicated that they were carrying Zamzam water in a suitcase in various ways, such as being covered with duct tape and wrapped in clothes.

Based on flight safety rules, you are not allowed to put Zamzam air in your luggage.

The rules are also in accordance with the provisions of the circular issued by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).
