Central Java Becomes The Province With The Highest National Poverty Reduction, Deputy Governor Taj Yasin Sends This Message To Residents

SEMARANG - Deputy Governor of Central Java Taj Yasin Maimoen appreciated the achievement of reducing the poverty rate in Central Java Province which became the highest nationally based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS).

"There are 25 provinces experiencing a decline, Central Java has the highest poverty reduction, around 102,000 people. It has been announced, this means that Central Java people should be grateful, and need to be active again in the era after the pandemic," said the Deputy Governor who is also the Chair of the Coordinating Team for Poverty Reduction (TKPK) Central Java Province in Semarang, Antara, Saturday, July 16.

The Deputy Governor thanked all levels of government and society in Central Java Province for the massive reduction in poverty rates, and asked all parties to be more enthusiastic in working to reduce poverty in all regions.

According to him, poverty reduction in Central Java cannot be separated from the efforts of various parties through several programs, such as the Uninhabitable House Renovation (RTLH) program, latrines, assistance to poor families, free electricity installation managed into one flagship program, namely the One Regional Apparatus Organization. (OPD) One Assisted Village.

In addition, in its implementation in mutual cooperation, starting from the provincial government to the village government. This makes poverty reduction in Central Java very significant.

Taj Yasin admitted to communicating with stakeholders related to poverty reduction who received a positive response to realize this joint program so that the government does not work alone to reduce poverty in Central Java.

According to him, this cannot be separated from several Central Java Provincial Government programs and programs that are excellent, namely the One OPD One Assisted Village program, this program covers several programs in the office, RTLH, latrines, and assistance to poor families.

"We control that to the village level, we coordinate with the RT/RW," he said.

Interestingly, the Central Java Provincial Government also communicates with companies that have corporate social responsibility related to distribution.

"There are several people who take part in the socialization of community alleviation from poverty. There is a house renovation by CSR, even Baznas also does that, provides incentives to the poor, there is latrine, road construction, we synchronize it with the Assisted Village Program," he said.

The Central Java Provincial Government has succeeded in reducing poverty to 102,570 people from 3.93 million to 3.83 million.

The results of the National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) of BPS in March 2022 stated that the poverty rate in Central Java fell by 0.32 percentage points, which is 10.93 percent. Previously, in September 2021, the poverty rate in this province was recorded at 11.25 percentage points.
