Ganjar Asks People To Return To Discipline In Wearing Masks

SOLO - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo asked the public to return to the discipline of wearing masks, following the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in the country.

"The anticipation is that everyone is wearing masks, activities are still allowed, but yes, the control is (observed), ojo is happy (don't go too far)," he said in Solo as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, July 14.

According to him, public awareness should really be built. Moreover, the COVID-19 pandemic has entered its third year, so people should have learned a lot from previous events.

"Please, at least wear a mask," he said.

In addition, at this time his party is also boosting vaccination boosters among the community.

"We are boosting it again, yesterday I went around to boost it again," he said.

Asked about the possibility of re-enacting judicial operations for violators of health protocols, he said, it would not be carried out.

"God willing, no, yes, because hopefully the variants are not too vicious. We must not underestimate, but we will follow it continuously. From the Ministry of Health, from WHO, the BA.4 and BA.5 variants from the results of the ministry's exposure to regional heads are approximately I think it's infectious ability is 1/3, but we can't ignore it, you know," he said.

On the other hand, his party also ensures the readiness of health facilities to handle patients with COVID-19 cases.

"Today we are with PERSI (Indonesian Hospital Association) almost every day I ask for a report. There are additions but not too significant, on average without any symptoms, so people don't need to panic," he said.

When asked about instructions for hospitals and health services, he made sure all parties were on standby.

"They already have experience, they are smarter than me. The condition of BOR in Central Java is generally still good," he said.
