JAKARTA - The Indo Barometer Survey Institute released the results of a poll about President Joko Widodo's performance in one year serving in his second term.

Executive Director of Indo Barometer, Mohammad Qodari explained, as much as 64.6 percent of respondents said they were satisfied with Jokowi's performance.

"As many as 33.1 percent of respondents expressed dissatisfaction with President Joko Widodo's work, and 2.3 percent said they did not know or did not answer," Qodari said in his statement, Thursday, November 5.

Based on the distribution of respondents per major island in Indonesia, 65 percent said they were satisfied and 31.8 percent said they were dissatisfied on the island of Java. On the island of Sumatra, 55.8 percent expressed satisfaction and 42.8 percent were dissatisfied. On the island of Sulawesi, 62.8 percent were satisfied and 32.6 percent were dissatisfied.

On the island of Kalimantan, 73.1 percent expressed satisfaction and 25 percent expressed dissatisfaction. On the island of Papua-Maluku-NTB-NTT, 84.8 percent expressed satisfaction and 15.2 percent were dissatisfied.

The biggest reason respondents expressed satisfaction with Jokowi's performance after a year in office in the second term was having real work results, with a proportion of 27.1 percent.

"Meanwhile, the biggest reason for dissatisfaction was as many as 16.4 percent of respondents thought their policies were favorable to certain parties," said Qodari.

If Jokowi receives a higher level of satisfaction, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin is the opposite. As many as 40.8 percent claim to be satisfied with Ma'ruf Amin's performance.

"More expressed dissatisfaction with Ma'ruf Amin, namely 47.4 percent, and 11 percent said they did not know or did not answer," said Qodari.

The biggest reason respondents said they were satisfied with Ma'ruf Amin's yearly performance was their role in maintaining inter-religious harmony, with a proportion of 36.5 percent.

"Meanwhile, the biggest reason for dissatisfaction is that as many as 65 percent of respondents think that Ma'ruf Amin's real work has yet to be seen," he said.

It is known that this survey was conducted in the period 10 to 17 October 2020 in 34 provinces. The data collection technique is in the form of face-to-face interviews with respondents using a questionnaire.

The survey method used was multistage random sampling to 1200 respondents. The margin of error is 2.83 percent with a confidence level of 95 percent.
