DKI Deputy Governor Asks Disdik To Give Sanctions For High School Teachers Who Offend SARA During The Election Of The Student Council Chair

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria asked the DKI Jakarta Education Agency to impose sanctions on intolerant SMAN 58 teachers.

"Later, we will ask the Education Office to arrange sanctions for those concerned," said Riza at Jakarta City Hall, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, November 4.

According to Riza Patria, teacher intolerance is a mistake. However, Riza did not know that there was a sanction that regulated this.

"However, there may be sanctions in other forms," he said.

Riza conveyed that the actions of a teacher named Tini Suharyati (56) in a conversation on the WhatsApp group regarding the election of the student council president who smelled of intolerance, was a mistake, especially when it was a teacher of Islamic Religious Education and Character.

"It is indeed wrong, it is not permissible for an educator, let alone a teacher, arrange or intervene in the choice of the Student Council, but we are grateful that those concerned have realized that it was a wrong act, and have apologized," he said.

"Then, because this is an area of education, we hope that this can be resolved by deliberation and can be resolved in a family manner," he said.

Riza conveyed that apart from hoping that the DKI Jakarta Education Agency could solve this well, he also hoped that this case could become a lesson for all parties.

"Hopefully this will be a lesson for anyone not entering the area of religion on these matters," he said.

Previously, the conversation of someone named Tini Suharyati (56) in the WhatsApp group 'Rohis 58' suddenly went viral on social media. The reason is that the racist conversation was allegedly carried out by a teacher.

Tini, who is suspected of being a teacher of Islamic Religious Education and Character, asked members of the 'Rohis 58' group not to choose a non-Muslim student council president candidate.

"Assalamualaikum ... be careful to elect the student council president for candidate pairs 1 and 2 for non-Islamic candidates ... so, however, the majority of us have to have a chairman who is in the same Aqidah as us," wrote Tini.

"Please pray and support Candidate Candidate 3, please pray and support for Candidate Candidate 3, Watch out for Rohis, don't anyone become a traitor," said Tini in the group.
