JAKARTA - Member of Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives, the PKS faction, Bukhori Yusuf, is pushing for clarification on regulations related to the Furoda pilgrimage. Following the incident, 46 prospective Furoda pilgrims failed to perform the pilgrimage and were sent back to Indonesia using unofficial visas from Malaysia and Singapore.

In fact, said Bukhori, the Umrah and Hajj Organizing Company estimates that more than 4,000 Furoda pilgrims cannot go to Saudi Arabia due to visa issues.

Bukhori regretted PIHK's act of collecting fees from the Furoda pilgrims before there was confirmation of the issuance of Mujamalah visas from the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Indonesia.

"The Mujamalah visa for the Furoda Hajj is actually very speculative from its source, so that the PIHK's action to collect fees from the Furoda Hajj pilgrims before there is the certainty of leaving is regrettable", said Bukhori to reporters, Thursday, July 7.

"Shouldn't they make promises, let alone charge a penny from the congregation until the visa is issued", he continued.

The Central Java electoral district legislator also pushed for the formation of more adequate and clearer regulations to manage Hajj pilgrims with Mujamalah visas.

"In the future, there must be clearer rules so that there is a certainty for Furoda pilgrims and there is work size for PIHK or travel agents who facilitate Hajj pilgrims with Mujamalah visas", he said.

This member of the Legislation Board added that clearer regulation to regulate Furoda pilgrims is needed considering that the implementation of Hajj through this route is often a scourge because of its speculative nature.

"The source of the visa for Hajj Furoda is speculative, the amount is speculative, and the size is also speculative. Therefore, this speculation that cannot be measured or can be seen continues to be a ghost for those who will perform the Hajj in a fast lane, so clearer regulations are needed", he said.
