59 Percent Of Central Jakarta Residents Affected By Changes In Street Names Have Changed Their KTPs With New Addresses

JAKARTA - The Central Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Sub-Department (Kasudin Dukcapil) has processed the administrative change of population documents related to the change in street names. The process has reached 59 percent.

Head of the Central Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Sub-Department (Kasudin Dukcapil) Rosyik Muhammad said, as many as 654 people were affected by the change in street names in Central Jakarta.

"From that percentage, it has reached 59 percent per day," said Rosyik when confirmed, Wednesday, July 6.

The data is likely to continue to grow. The reason is, his staff is currently intensively picking up the ball to the public for changes to the population document data.

"There is still service (pick up the ball), so it can increase," he said.

To speed up the process of changing residents' population document data, he continued, his staff has also printed new resident population documents such as Identity Cards (KTP) and Family Cards (KK).

"So residents don't need to file (change documents), because we have printed them. We just have to submit and exchange them with their old documents," he said.

Previously, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan had inaugurated the change of 22 street names in DKI Jakarta with the names of Betawi figures. However, changing the name of the street was rejected by residents who live at the address.
