BATAM - The Batam City Government in the Riau Islands Province provides COVID-19 vaccination services in all health centers to accelerate the completion of vaccination implementation, including the third dose of vaccination or booster dose.

"This is the government's effort to maximize the booster vaccine achievement. It is hoped that Batam's achievement will be close to 100 percent later. According to data from the Ministry of Health to date, the coverage of the first, second, and third doses of vaccination reached 105.11 percent, 92.95 percent, and 47.89 percent of the total 907,317 residents targeted for COVID-19 vaccination in Batam City. .

Rudi said that the Health Office is trying to accelerate the increase in booster vaccination coverage.

"We must admit that Batam is one of the areas with the best vaccination achievements in Indonesia. Even though the case is sloping, the Health Office does not stop providing booster vaccine services. So if there is PPKM or new travel requirements, Batam people no longer need to worry, because they have participated in booster vaccines self-consciously," he said.

The Mayor appealed to Batam residents to undergo booster vaccinations and be disciplined in wearing masks, washing hands after activities, and avoiding crowds so that the transmission of COVID-19 does not increase again.
