Polri: If You Want To Strike A National Strike That Loses Workers

JAKARTA - The National Police appealed to workers to cancel plans for a national strike. The strike was called by the Police, which actually hurt workers.

This appeal was conveyed in response to the statement of the President of the Confederation of Indonesian Workers Unions (KSPI) Said Iqbal regarding the planned national labor strike.

"If the demonstration threatens to strike, we convey an appeal not to strike. Later, if the strike is the one who is the loser," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono to reporters, Tuesday, November 3.

The workers will suffer losses because later they will not get wages. In fact, the odds are that they will lose their job the hardest. In fact, workers have the necessities of life that must be fulfilled.

"Why? Because co-workers need to live. If the strike later, how will they work," said Awi.

Therefore, it is hoped that workers will exercise their rights as citizens to sue through legal procedures. There is a line by the Constitutional Court (MK) for judicial review of the Job Creation Law.

"The law has been enacted if you don't agree, refuse, then the Court's lawsuit is already in line. Just submit it," said Awi.

Previously, the President of KSPI Said Iqbal called for a national labor strike plan if the government and the DPR did not cancel the Omnibus Law on the Job Creation Law, particularly the Labor Cluster.

Said Iqbal conveyed this call in an action against the Work Creation Law held by labor unions that are members of the KSPI, KSPSI AGN, and Gekanas in the Arjuna Wiwaha Horse Statue area, Central Jakarta.

"If the government does not cancel the Omnibus Law, I would like to call for a national strike by workers to be carried out all over Indonesia," Iqbal said on top of the command car, Monday, November 2.

Said Iqbal said that his party would issue official instructions. Its contents, ask the head of the work unit (PUK) of workers in each factory to negotiate with the company leadership to agree to reject the Job Creation Law and increase the drinking wage in 2021.

"We will issue official instructions, not to use fear, asking to negotiate on wages. This is in accordance with Law Number 13 of 2003 (Concerning Manpower)," he said.

The negotiation instructions were carried out for two weeks. If in two weeks there is no agreement, then the condition is a deadlock.

"If the deadlock is dead, we ask PUK throughout Indonesia to make a notification letter to strike all over Indonesia," said Iqbal.
