Head Of LB Moerdani Hospital Merauke Stabbed By TNI Member, Perpetrator Detained In Denpom

JAYAPURA - Kapendam XVII Cenderawasih Lieutenant Colonel Kav. Herman Taryaman said Sergeant Muhammad Alkausar, who stabbed the Head of General LB Moerdani Merauke Hospital, Major CKM Beni Arjihans, had been detained at Denpom XVII-3 Merauke.

"It is true that the perpetrators of the stabbing that killed Major CKM dr. Beni Arjihans, M.Si. Med, Sp.B have been arrested and processed (legally)," said Head of Information for the XVII Cenderawasih Military Command (Kapendam) Lt. Col. Kav. Herman Taryaman in Jayapura, Papua quoted by Antara, Tuesday, July 5.

Herman explained the stabbing incident by Sertu Muhammad Alkausar against Major CKM dr. Beni Arjihans occurred on Tuesday (5/7) at around 08.00 WIT. The suspect stabbed the victim with a knife.

The case began when the victim of Major CKM, dr. Beni Arjihans, at around 08.00 WIT, held a morning rally with all personnel. But at that time Sertu Muhammad Alkausar did not attend the apple because he was late.

While waiting for the presence of the perpetrators who did not attend the morning rally, other personnel did sports running. But not long after, the perpetrator came at the apple place and expressed his frustration.

Sertu Muhammad then headed to his motorbike to get a knife that was stored in the motorbike seat. Carrying a knife, the perpetrator then met the victim who was in the emergency room at the LB Moerdani Merauke Hospital and stabbed him and hit the victim in the back.

"Major CKM Dr. Beni Arjihans was rushed to the Merauke Navy Hospital but his life could not be saved," explained Herman.

According to the plan, the victim's body on Wednesday (6/7) will be flown to Jakarta and then taken to Cimahi, West Java, to be buried in his hometown.

"The perpetrators are currently undergoing a legal process," said Lieutenant Colonel Kav. Herman Taryam.
