BANDUNG - The Bandung Police Criminal Investigation Unit team arrested a man with the initials DS (34) who killed a 51-year-old mother due to online gambling debt.
Head of the Satreskrim Polresta Bandung, AKP Oliestha A Wicaksana, said the murder incident began with the discovery of the community regarding the victim lying lifeless in his house, in Cinunuk Village, Bandung Regency.

According to him, the discovery of the body of the victim with the initials GEJ occurred on Monday (27/6). Residents were forced to break into the victim's locked house.
Starting from the discovery, the police investigated the case to uncover the perpetrator. Finally, the perpetrator with the initials DS was arrested in Banjar, West Java, after moving around because he was running away.
AKP Wicaksana explained, DS killed the victim's life because of economic motives. Initially, he said, DS visited the victim because he wanted to borrow some money.
However, GEJ refused DS's request until the perpetrators became angry. So, he said, DS tried to stab the victim's neck using a cutter knife.
"Then the victim screamed and the perpetrator tried to stab the cutter into the victim's neck, but failed and the cutter broke," he said.
It didn't end there, DS covered GEJ's mouth until he was helpless and banged his head until he died.
"Between the victim and the perpetrator, they know each other, so the victim and the perpetrator have previously worked together, lent each other capital, related to the business of the perpetrator selling crackers and so on," he said.
After GEJ died, DS ran away with a number of the victim's belongings, ranging from vehicles, laptops, to cellphones.
Meanwhile, DS admitted that he was desperate to do that because he was in debt. In addition, he also admitted that he often carried the cutter knife wherever he went.
"The money I want to borrow is to pay off debt, online gambling debt," said DS.
