Reveals The Reasons For The Low Achievement Of The COVID-19 Booster Vaccine, Minister Of Health: People Feel The Vaccine Is 2 Times Stronger

JAKARTA - Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said the low achievement of the third vaccine or COVID-19 booster was due to the fact that many people still underestimated it. In fact, this dose is needed to strengthen immunity.

He also emphasized that this condition does not only occur in Indonesia but is experienced by many countries.

"It's everywhere. It's not just in Indonesia. People underestimate it. They feel they've been vaccinated twice, they feel stronger," said Budi in a press conference broadcast on YouTube, Monday, July 4.

Budi reminded the public to immediately receive the booster vaccine after receiving the second dose of injection. Because, after six, usually antibodies to fight the virus will decrease.

"So it's much better, much more prepared, much more alert if we immediately carry out a booster vaccination, especially after six months of the second dose," he said.

"It will provide protection. Be careful, it's not bad," continued the former Deputy Minister of SOEs.

Moreover, Budi thinks that it is better for the community to receive a booster injection than to undergo a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test.

"What kind of injection is it. I prefer to have an injection rather than a PCR plug because the nose doesn't feel very good. The injection is once every six months and we do this to be careful and it is very useful," said the Minister of Health.

The government will also look for ways to increase the number of booster vaccine recipients in the country. Moreover, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has ordered his staff to look for innovative social approaches.

"Indonesian people need innovative social approaches like that. So maybe his direction is to look for innovative social approaches so that the Indonesian people will get boosted again," he concluded.
