MEKKAH - Head of the Internal Monitoring Team for the Implementation of Hajj, Nizar Ali, appreciated the innovation of temperature-reducing vests for handling heat stroke cases for pilgrims in Arafah, Muzdhallifah and Mina (Armuzna).

"Maybe for the next nine years, I think the weather is still so hot. So this is an innovation that needs to be responded to, thought about by all of us, especially the officers who directly come into contact in the field," said Nizar after seeing the health services at KKHI Mecca reported by Antara, Friday, July 1.

According to Nizar who is also Secretary General of the Ministry of Religion, the daytime weather in Saudi Arabia is on average more than 40 degrees. So the innovation of the temperature-reducing vest is very suitable.

The Ministry of Health utilizes carbon cool technology which is designed to be a temperature-reducing vest. The vest can last for 8 to 12 hours in the hot sun, making it very suitable for use by pilgrims and officers who are constantly on the move in the hot air of Saudi Arabia.

In addition to special sector officers who are always on duty under the hot sun, the vest is also very suitable for congregants with high risk (risti) during the peak of the pilgrimage in Arafah, Muzdalifah and Mina.

"This can also be expanded to the congregation when throwing a jumrah because the road is so far in the hot sun, so there is no need to use an umbrella, especially since it only weighs 2 kg," he said.

The temperature-reducing vest is an innovation in health services for the Hajj season of 1443 H, for handling heat stroke cases that may occur in the 2022 Hajj season.

The vest will also be used by health workers serving in the Armuzna region as a precautionary measure.

A total of 10 jackets have been prepared for officers, while 20 jackets have been prepared for first aid for heat stroke pilgrims.
