The Judging Of The 2022 MHT Awards Is Over, Just Waiting For The Peak Event

JAKARTA - The judging of the 2022 Mohammad Husni Thamrin Journalistic Award aka MHT Awards has been completed. The names of the winners will be announced on 12 August 2022 at the main event.

"The total number of contest materials we received is more than last year. Quality has also improved," said Irmanto, deputy head of the PWI Jaya organization who is chair of the jury for the 48th MHT Awards in 2022.

Anugerah Jurnalistik MH Thamrin is an annual activity by PWI Jaya with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government Discominfotik, representing the dynamics of the development of the capital city. For the 48th MHT Awards in 2022, there are still 7 categories of journalistic works to be contested. These works will be published in print, electronic and online media between June 1, 2021 and May 31, 2022.

From the recapitulation of material at the MHT Awards 48-2022, the text or news category still dominates. "As for the venue for the award ceremony, we are still waiting for confirmation from friends from the Jakarta Provincial Government's Communication and Information Technology," said PWI Jaya Chairman Sayid Iskandarsyah after the 48th MHT Awards panel meeting in 2022, Friday afternoon July 1.

"Of course we hope it can be held at the Great Hall, as well as restore the tradition of handing over the MHT Awards at night," said Sayid, at PWI Jaya Headquarters, 9th floor of the Prasada Sasana Karya Building, Central Jakarta.

Sayid reminded that when the MHT Awards 48-2022 started, the awards would be given to 3 people in each category. Namely, a winner and 2 nominees, from the text category, photo category, terrestrial TV video category, streaming TV video category, radio category, infographic category, and editorial category.

Chairman of the Committee for the 48-2022 MHT Awards Dr. Budi Nugraha explained the plan to meet the family of the late Mohammad Husni Thamrin. "God willing, we will realize it this July. We will also coordinate with our friends at Diskominfotik," he said.

Budi Nugraha expressed his gratitude to the partners who have expressed their commitment to support this prestigious journalism award. So far, the Panpel has received support from Agi Sugiyanto through PT Media Musik Proaktif, PT Krakatau Steel, the Financial Services Authority (OJK), PT Djarun Foundation, PT Astra Agro Lestari, Tbk, Bakrie Amanah, Bank DKI, BRI, Indofood Sukses Makmur (ISM), and Jiexpo Kemayoran, the organizer of the Jakarta Fair. "We are still waiting for confirmation from other business partners," said Budi.

In addition to making a visit to the family residence of the late Mohammad Husni Thamrin, the MHT Awards 48-2022 committee still has two supporting activities. "Road to MHT Awards 2022" which will soon be held are seminars and photo exhibitions related to Jakarta. These two activities will be held in the multi-purpose room of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government Diskominfotik. Previously, a public lecture on journalism with the theme "Robot Journalism" was held, which presented a resource person from the Deputy Chairperson of PWI Jaya for Inter-Institutional Affairs Amy Atmanto. This event was held at the Mercu Buana University Campus Studio, West Jakarta.

Also a national seminar organized in collaboration with Mercu Buana University, "Utilizing Digital Media for Interactive Teaching and Learning Activities".
