LABUAN BAJO - The Labuan Bajo Navy Base Commander (Danlanal) Marine Lt. Col. (P) Roni inspected three phinisi ships that were anchored at Labuan Bajo Harbor, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) to check the readiness and completeness of the ship's safety equipment. going on a tour.

"The results of the 'sampling' are complete with the equipment, but apart from the sampling, they are still being monitored, given the number of phinisi ships operating quite a lot," he said, quoted by Antara, Friday, July 1.

Pinisi is a traditional sailing boat that is generally used in fishing activities in the Bugis-Makassar community

When conducting inspections, Danlanal emphasized that the ship's captain, crew and tour guides should prioritize the safety of tourists first.

If there are obstacles in the field, he asked them to take action quickly to contact potential SAR agencies, namely the Indonesian Navy, Labuan Bajo, Basarnas, and Polairud Labuan Bajo in order to minimize accidents at sea.

He also asked tourists who were on board the ship to reprimand the ship's crew if they were not professional in carrying out cruise activities.

He said such inspection activities would continue to touch the crew. Roni also hopes that the inspection results and findings can be used as evaluations for the relevant stakeholders.

"Strict action is needed by collaboration between the TNI, Polri, Syahbandar, BPOLBF, and Basarnas so that in the future sea accidents for sea users in Labuan Bajo do not happen again," said Roni.
