Investigators Confiscate His Twitter Account, Roy Suryo: Hoax, I'll Just Smile!

JAKARTA - Telematics expert Roy Suryo denied the police statement that his Twitter account @KRMTroysuryo2 had been confiscated to be used as evidence.

According to him, until now accounts that are often used to write criticisms of the government still exist or have not been confiscated.

"Hoax (account confiscation, ed)," said Roy Suryo to reporters, Thursday, June 30.

In fact, when it was confirmed about the account confiscation, the former Menpora only responded with a smile. Roy is 100 percent sure his Twitter account is still there and still active.

"Yes, it's okay, I just smile. What's clear is that I still have my account," he said.

In addition, Roy Suryo's lawyer, Pitra Romadoni, said that his party had not received any information regarding the account confiscation. So, we will coordinate with investigators regarding this matter.

"Regarding that, we will coordinate later. Currently, we do not have any coordination regarding this," said Pitra.

Polda Metro Jaya confiscated the Twitter account @KRMTroysuryo2 which belonged to Roy Suryo. The account was confiscated as evidence in the Borobudur Temple stupa meme case similar to Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

"It was confiscated, which he used for the upload. What was the name of the account yesterday that I mentioned @KRMTroysuryo9," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes E. Zulpan

The account was confiscated because the former Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) used it when uploading the meme that was the subject of the problem.

Therefore, investigators think that the account deserves to be confiscated as evidence. Moreover, the case with reported Roy Suryo has gone up to the investigation stage. "That's the account he uses," Zulpan said.
