JAKARTA - The police explained the seconds when a package containing sandals was found with a series of wires like a detonator or a bomb trigger at the Class II A Women's Correctional Institution (Lapas) Tangerang.

Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes E. Zulpan said it all started when the sender ordered an online taxi service to deliver the package, on Wednesday, June 29.

"So this Gocar driver got an order from someone, we already know who that person is," Zulpan told reporters, Thursday, June 30.

Without being suspicious and knowing the contents of the package, the Gocar driver took him to his destination, namely, Class II A Tangerang Women's Prison.

Upon arrival at the location, the driver went straight to the goods inspection site. It was then that the contents of the package were known.

"So at the time of inspection there was food and so on, yes. Some were allowed to enter and so on. Then it was opened again on the inside, there were items that were covered with plastic. Then they were told to open the items and they turned out to be sandals," said Zulpan.

The prison officer who runs the standard operating procedure (SOP) inspects the sandals. When checked, found a series of wires under the sandal pad.

The prison immediately contacted the Tangerang City Metro Police, who then contacted the bomb disposal team (jibom).

"I can say that it is not true that there was an element of a bomb in it," said Zulpan.
