SO-5 Manggarai Station Makes MRT And TransJakarta Passengers Soar

JAKARTA - The DKI Transportation Agency revealed that the service system transition or "Switch Over" (SO-5) at Manggarai Station boosted the number of passengers for three mass transportations, namely the MRT and LRT Jakarta and TransJakarta.

"The increase is quite significant because there may be a road intermodal," said Head of the Jakarta Transportation Agency's Railways, Renny Dwi Astuti, Jakarta, Wednesday, June 29, quoted from Antara.

According to him, the implementation of SO-5 will take effect from May 28, 2022. TransJakarta has experienced an increase in the number of passengers at Manggarai Station for several routes, including Manggarai Station-Universitas Indonesia (UI).

In addition, the increase also occurred for the TransJakarta route from Manggarai Station-Blok M, Tebet-Karet Station via Patra Kuningan and Tebet-Karet Station via an underpass.

Prior to the transition policy, for the period from April 28 to May 27, the total passengers reached 36,513 people for the TransJakarta route from Manggarai-UI.

Meanwhile, since SO-5 was implemented on May 28 to June 27, the number of passengers for the Manggarai-UI route has increased to 57,127 people.

Another route, namely Manggarai-Blok M, the number of passengers increased to 24,201 people compared to the previous 17,330 people.

The TransJakarta route from Tebet-Karet Station via Patra Kuningan reached 63,031 people, an increase from the previous 43,155 people.

The Tebet-Karet Station route via the "underpass" has increased to 53,527 people from the previous 32,938 people.

With the SO-5 policy, passengers traveling from Bogor Station to Sudirman Station can now go directly to Gondangdia Station, without needing to transit at Manggarai Station.

"There is also integration with TransJakarta at Gondangdia Station," he said.

Meanwhile, the number of MRT Jakarta passengers also increased in the period 28 May-27 June reaching 1.88 million compared to before SO-5 on 28 April-27 May reaching 1.45 million people.

The number of passengers on the Jakarta LRT also rose to 60,173 people from the previous 50,876 people
