Using Sabu Since 2018, DJ Joyce Claims To Be Just For Fun

JAKARTA - South Jakarta Police Narcotics Deputy AKP Billy Gustiano Barman explained, Disc Jockey (DJ) with the initials J alias Joice or Anisa Choerunnisa, has been consuming shabu since 2018.

"Based on information from the suspect, he has been using drugs since 2018," Billy told reporters at the Meto Police Station, South Jakarta, Tuesday, June 28.

Billy told officers that Joyce used meth for calm and seeking happiness.

"(The reason for using methamphetamine) is that he gets calm, satisfaction and a feeling of happiness. He uses meth when he wants to use it (not always when he wants to work as a DJ)," he added.

Joyce was arrested during a police raid on her boarding house in the North Kemang area, South Jakarta, Monday, June 27, at 12.30 WIB. Joyce was arrested along with three of her friends with the initials NU, FE and IS.

"During the search, evidence of narcotics in the form of two small plastic clips of methamphetamine was found, and a meth suction device or bong. They were (arrested) while using drugs. They are friends," he said.

For his actions the 4 perpetrators were charged with Article 127 of Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning drug abuse.
