BADUNG - A female tourist from India, Lalith Kumar Daga Chhagan Lal (35) became a victim of a robbery in the Kuta area, Badung Regency, Bali. His cellphone was stolen by a thief named I Wayan Gondol.

"As a result of the interrogation, the perpetrator admitted that he had committed the theft or snatching. The perpetrator had previously been detained at the Kerobokan Prison for the robbery case and was sentenced to two years in prison. He is a recidivist," said Kuta Police Chief Kompol Orpa Takalapeta Monday, June 27.

The mugging took place on Jalan Bypass Ngurah Rai, Kuta, on the evening of Friday, June 24.

At that time, the victim and her husband left the hotel on a motorbike. The victim at that time had the wrong way to enter a small alley.

While looking for directions via Google Maps, the victim's cellphone, which was being carried by her husband, was snatched by the perpetrator who was riding a motorcycle.

"Then the reporter chased the perpetrator but lost track of it. The missing cellphone was the black iPhone 11 brand, with a loss of R 9,500,000. Then it was reported to the Kuta Police for further processing," said Kompol Orpa.

The police moved and arrested the perpetrator on Jalan By Pass Ngurah Rai.

"The perpetrators can be secured along with evidence and secured to the Kuta Police for further development and processing," he said.
