SURABAYA - A total of 6,552 gallons of Zamzam water in five liter packages destined for Hajj pilgrims have arrived at the Surabaya Hajj Embarkation Dormitory.

"Zamzam water is provided for all Hajj pilgrims free of charge and each person gets five liters," said Head of the Surabaya Embarkation Hajj Organizing Committee (PPIH) Husnul Maram in Surabaya as reported by Antara, Wednesday, June 22.

The arrival of Zamzam water was divided into two stages, the first on Monday (20/6) as many as 3,276 packages brought from Juanda International Airport using two fleets of box trucks.

Meanwhile, on the second day, Tuesday (21/6) two box trucks returned to transport 3,276 packages of Zamzam water to the Surabaya Hajj Embarkation Dormitory building.

Husnul Maram, who is also the Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion of East Java, appealed to the pilgrims when returning to the country not to bring Zamzam water from Saudi Arabia because there will be a baggage check when they are at the local airport.

"Jaeaah there is no need to bring Zamzam water from there, because there will be an inspection of luggage in Saudi Arabia. The plane will not fly if it is indicated that there is Zamzam water in a large suitcase or hand," he said.

Zamzam water will come according to schedule until the amount is met according to the number of Surabaya Embarkation pilgrims.

Husnul Maram ensured that when the departure process for the Surabaya Embarkation pilgrims was completed, the amount of Zamzam water that had to be fulfilled had also been reached.

"God willing, when the departure of this group is completed, the amount of Zamzam water entering the Hajj Dormitory has been fulfilled. All pilgrims will definitely receive it and don't worry about shortages," he said.

Meanwhile, PPIH Embarkation Surabaya informed the departure of flying groups (kloters) to be carried out until July 2, 2022.

Based on data from the East Java Ministry of Religion for Surabaya Embarkation this year there were 16,967 pilgrims served and divided into 38 groups.
