Garuda Indonesia Provides 14 Airplanes To Serve 2025 Hajj Flights

JAKARTA - PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk provides 14 aircraft to serve 2025 Hajj flights. Some of the aircraft used are chartered aircraft.

President Director of Garuda Indonesia, Wamildan Tsani, said that the number of hajj flight groups that will be served by Garuda this year is 282 groups with a total of 14 aircraft.

Furthermore, the Military Commander said that of the 14 aircraft prepared, some of them belonged to a subsidiary of Garuda, namely Citilink Indonesia.

"The number of groups we have prepared is 282 groups with 14 aircraft. Garuda will prepare 8 aircraft including 2 Citilink aircraft and we will lease an additional 6 aircraft," he said in a hearing (RDP) with Commission VIII DPR RI, quoted Friday, January 3.

The Regional Military Command also ensured that the 6 aircraft rental system had been completed following a decision from the government. Thus, he guaranteed that there would be no delay like last year.

"This year everything is ready to make an agreement, so once we get a decision we will immediately tie it up. So unlike before, we do an agreement that is a bit late," he said.

In addition, the Military Commander said that his party would operate young aircraft under the age of 12 to serve the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage.

"We are committed to providing a younger fleet with an average age of 12 years. Compared to the average age of last year, which is 17 years we rented," he said.

"So we make sure the condition of the plane is much better. If it is decided to us, then we will put it in the hangar for us to check and repair the cabin interior so that it is ready to be used for the implementation of the pilgrimage," he continued.

Then, he continued, Garuda also prepared a special aircraft unit as an operational reserve for departure and return of Hajj.

"We have prepared a special fleet as Hajj operational reserves with the Airbus 330-300 type to anticipate irregularity," he explained.
