Ahead Of DKI's 495th Anniversary, Djarot Former Deputy Governor Of DKI Gives Criticism To Anies

JAKARTA - Former Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Djarot Saiful Hidayat gave a critical note to the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan ahead of Jakarta's 495th birthday which falls tomorrow.

Despite his appreciation, Djarot said that the Jakarta Celebration, which was initiated by Anies, was a normal thing because it was the obligation of the DKI Provincial Government to hold a commemoration of the anniversary of DKI.

"We appreciate Jakarta's anniversary as a Jakarta Celebration. But don't just polish it up. Then mutual cooperation is changed to collaboration. Things like this are just dictions, not grounded. In fact, the important thing is the philosophy that he works on," said Djarot when met at the PDIP DPP Party School, Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta, Tuesday, June 21.

Djarot then criticized a number of Anies' programs which are currently still lacking in realization. One of them, a house down payment of Rp. 0. Of the target of 250 thousand houses, which have been built have not reached 1,000 units.

"The DKI Jakarta APBD is really big. We are really waiting. He said, (Anies) subsidizes the poor to get decent housing. Apparently, the house was built with a down payment of 0 rupiah, it's also unclear how much," said Djarot.

The Jakarta Formula E event is also in the spotlight. Djarot views that it is better for Anies to use the allocated budget for the welfare of the citizens of Jakarta.

"We support Formula E, but how much is allocated? If it is intended to build flats for the people, it is much more effective in reducing poverty. If it is distributed for capital assistance for small entrepreneurs, it will focus more on making its citizens happy," he said. Djarot.

Then related to changing the names of dozens of streets in Jakarta to the names of Betawi figures. Although Djarot appreciated it, he also asked Anies not to miss out on fixing the road infrastructure.

"I agree that Jakarta's artists should be used as street names. However, what is more agreeable is that the roads are cleaner, greener. What needs to be cut down is not actually the trees, but the poles that interfere. The poles that don't work, the operator poles so all infrastructure below," he added.
