Bantul Regent: Students Who Can't Enter Public Middle School Don't Be Disappointed, There Are Still Many Good Privates

JAKARTA - The Bantul Regency Government, Yogyakarta, provides budgetary support to public schools and private schools to improve the quality of this regional education service.

Bantul Regent Abdul Halim Muslih when launching the online New Student Admission (PPDB) for public junior high schools in Bantul, said that his party has a tradition that not only public schools are provided with Bosda support (Regional School Operational Costs), non-permanent teacher incentives (GTT), and temporary employees (PTT), but also private schools.

"Since several years ago, Bantul has provided support for public and private junior high schools (SMP). The budget for Bantul Regency Government support for all education services continues to be increased," Abdul said, Monday, June 20, quoted from Antara.

Therefore, the Regent of Bantul appealed to parents and guardians of students not to force their children to enter public schools, because there are still many choices of quality and high-achieving private schools.

"Children who have not had the opportunity to enter public junior high schools at PPDB this time should not be discouraged. There are still many quality and high-achieving private schools, private schools can also produce great people," he said.

Abdul Halim said this year's PPDB was designed based on instructions from the government through the Ministry of Education and Culture, and every year, the system made continues to be improved to make it simpler, more practical, easier, and transparent.

The Regent also hopes that all elementary school (SD) and Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) graduates in Bantul this year can continue their studies at a higher level.

Data from the Bantul Youth and Sports Education Office stated that as many as 47 public junior high schools in Bantul opened new student registrations this year which was carried out centrally through Bantulkab.cepat-ppdb.com, registration starts from 20 to 22 June 2022.

There are four paths in the PPDB, namely the zoning path including the zoning of the school environment with a quota of 50 percent of the school's capacity, then 15 percent for the affirmation path, five percent for the transfer of parents, and 30 percent for the achievement path.
