JAKARTA - The National Police Chief General of Police Listyo Sigit Prabowo claims that soon he will file a review (PK) of the code of ethics decision of Adjunct Senior Commissioner of Police Raden Brotoseno. The application for this PK is after Perpol Number 7 of 2022 concerning the Code of Professional Ethics and the Police Code of Ethics Commission was officially promulgated.

"Soon, of course, we will follow up", he told reporters, Sunday, June 19.

Regarding the mechanism, Listyo said this would be followed up by the Head of the Police's Professional and Security Division.

"Later, the Head of the Police's Professional and Security Division will specifically convey. The commitment of the Police to follow up, why are we revising the Perpol, if we don't follow up", he said.

Previously, the National Police immediately conducted a review (PK) regarding the results of the trial of the Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP) which decided not to fire AKBP Raden Brotoseno.

This effort was made after the Regulation of the Indonesian National Police Number 7 of 2022 concerning the Professional Code of Ethics and the Police Code of Ethics was officially promulgated.

The regulation is also contained in the State Gazette number 587, 2022, and was promulgated after being signed by the Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna Laoly.

This Regulation of the Indonesian National Police is the result of the evaluation and amendment of the National Police Chief Regulation Number 14 2011 concerning the Professional Code of Ethics of the Republic of Indonesia Police and National Police Chief Regulation Number 19 of 2012 concerning the Organizational Structure and Work Procedure of the Indonesian National Police Code of Ethics.

Article 83 states that the National Police Chief has the authority to review the KKEP decision or the KKEP Appeal decision which is final and binding.
