Update On COVID-19 As Of October 27: New 3,520 Cases, Accumulated Cases Of 396,454

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 37,438 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 3,520 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 396,454 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Tuesday, October 27.

Today's cases increased by 4,576, so that a total of 322,248 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 101 people and a total of 13,512 people.

The province with the most new cases is in DKI Jakarta with 781 new cases and a total of 102,678 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.

Followed by West Java which has 390 new cases with a total of 34,745 cases. Central Java has 316 new cases and a total of 32,414 cases. West Sumatra has 313 new cases and a total of 13,373 cases. Then, East Java has 289 new cases and a total of 51,506 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,134 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 555 recovered cases, West Sumatra with an additional 480 recovered cases, and South Sulawesi with an additional 380 recovered cases.

Then, there is 1 province that reported no new cases today. The province is Papua.

In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 4,388,995. In detail, as many as 4,306,918 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 82,077 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).

"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 14.3 percent," he wrote.

Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was 169,479 people. Currently, 501 districts / cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
