NasDem Is Considered More Profitable If It Nominates A High-Electability Presidential Candidate, But Not The Head Of A Political Party

JAKARTA - The Executive Director of Poltracking Indonesia, Hanta Yuda, assessed that the names of DKI Governor Anies Baswedan and Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo as the names of the presidential candidates with the highest proposals at the NasDem National Working Meeting were indeed prospective for Surya Paloh's party ahead of the 2024 presidential election.

According to Hanta, both of them are the right figures who could be options as the three presidential candidates that NasDem should propose later. When compared to other popular names that have high electability, such as the General Chairperson of Gerindra, Prabowo Subianto.

"NasDem reads that Anies and Ganjar's electability strength is more prospective. Because they are new figures and they are not the chairman, Prabowo is the old figure. Although of course he still has a strong enough base but he is the chairman of Gerindra," Hanta told reporters, Friday, June 17.

Only He considered that the absence of the names of Prabowo Subianto and the General Secretary of Democrats Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono from the DPW proposal had become the right realistic choice for NasDem. Because, why did NasDem take a strong figure in his party?

"Not being included (Prabowo and AHY in the Rakernas Presidential Candidate) is realistic. Because he already has a party. NasDem is realistic about taking a figure who is strongly associated with his party leader. he said.

Instead, Hanta continued, a non-party and high electability would benefit NasDem. If NasDem can nominate a presidential candidate who has strong electability and is not yet obsessed with one political party, it will have an impact on NasDem's election itself.

"So what you have to think about is a chance to win from a presidential candidate with high electability," he said.

Hanta also suspects that the two names announced at the closing of the NasDem National Working Meeting tonight are Anies and Ganjar. So, just waiting for the third name.

"I think two people will be announced, Anies and Ganjar. Just waiting for the third name," he concluded.
