Clarification Of The Issue Of Alleged Extortion Of Rp1 Billion By The Head Of South Jakarta Criminal Investigation Unit

JAKARTA - The issue of extortion involving the Intermediate Officer (Pamen) of the National Police, AKBP Andi Sinjaya Ghalib, is still widely discussed. Because, there is no clarity regarding the rumors. Until finally, the figure of Budianto Phaseary appeared as a reporter on the issue.

Budianto has also been questioned by the Polda Metro Jaya Propam regarding the issue that South Jakarta Police officers extorted Rp1 billion. He clarified the issue and revealed evidence that it was not carried out by members of the police.

He has explained in detail the issue of extortion to Propam. He said, he was asked by a case broker (Markus) to pay Rp1 billion to help the case he reported so that it should be handled immediately.

"There (in the investigation) I explained that the request for Rp1 billion was indeed there. Then, Alex said there must be a budget," Budianto said in Jakarta, Wednesday, January 15.

The mark referred to is not the head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the South Jakarta Police, AKBP Andi Sinjaya, but a person he knows at a coffee shop and not a member of the police or a lawyer. Markus had the initials A and was on behalf of the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the South Jakarta Police when he asked for money.

"It turns out that the Pak Kasat who was introduced to me was not Kasat who I often saw on television (not Andi Sinjaya Ghalib)," he said.

Meanwhile, regarding the statement from the Indonesian Police Watch (IPW), Budianto admitted that he was the one who provided information to Neta S Pane about this extortion. This was done because the case had not progressed, even though he had asked for help from the unscrupulous Markus.

However, when giving information to Neta, he did not clearly explain the evidence of extortion. Thus, there is a misperception of the alleged extortion. From there, a statement about the alleged extortion involving investigators from the South Jakarta Metro Police emerged.

"Because there is some evidence of chat that I did not tell. So it only (tells) about a request for a certain amount of money," said Budianto.

"Proof of the complete conversation that I have not conveyed to Pak Neta," he continued.

Budianto conveyed his apologies to all parties involved in the issue. The allegation of the extortion case arose because of emotional feelings due to the incomplete land destruction case.

"I apologize to the Kapolda, Kapolres and his staff. I apologize to Pak Kasat Andi Sinjaya without providing evidence after this conversation with A (Alex)," said Budianto.

Previously reported, word got out that the transfer of AKBP Andi Sinjaya's position was carried out because there were indications of extortion and abuse of authority in the handling of a case. The news was first delivered by the Indonesia Police Watch (IPW).

The name Andi Sinjaya was linked by IPW who said that the South Jakarta Police investigator was transferred after extorting Rp1 billion in the handling of a case.

The money is said to be facilitating the processing of the complete land destruction case file or P21. It's just that the two suspects in the case, MY and Sul, have never been transferred to the Prosecutor's Office.
