Pramono Anung Regarding Reshuffle: Not Suddenly, President Jokowi Really Needs Refreshing Ministers And Deputy Ministers

JAKARTA - Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung ensured that the cabinet reshuffle carried out by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) had gone through long discussions and had been carefully thought out. Not only that, this step is needed as a form of refreshment in the Advanced Indonesia Coalition.

"This reshuffle was not carried out suddenly, with mature thoughts and long discussions. The president really needs some sort of refreshing from several ministers and deputy ministers," Pramono told reporters at the Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday, June 15.

Pramono emphasized that the momentum for this reshuffle was also right. "It is calculated that it is the most appropriate at this time," he said.

He hoped that those who were appointed, such as Zulkifli Hasan or Zulhas and Hadi Tjahjanto, could strengthen the work of the cabinet. Likewise with the three deputy ministers who entered.

"Hopefully this will strengthen the existing cabinet," said Pramono.

Pramono did not want to comment much on the inauguration of Zulhas as Minister of Trade to replace M. Lutfi. He did not answer whether this was related to the scarcity of cooking oil, he only said that the reshuffle was aimed at making the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet more agile.

Moreover, the world's problems are now more and more like inflation. So a refresh is needed. "This is to make the cabinet more able to work more agilely," he said.

"Because it's not just a matter of the Ministry of Trade, because currently food is a matter of inflation, it's also a world problem. For that refreshing is needed," he added.

As previously reported, President Jokowi has officially inaugurated the General Chair of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Zulkifli Hasan and former TNI Commander Hadi Tjahjanto as ministers in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet at the State Palace today, Wednesday, June 15.

Zulkifli Hasan is now the Minister of Trade replacing M. Lutfi while Hadi Tjahjanto is the Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning (ATR) of the National Land Agency (BPN).

In addition, Jokowi has three deputy ministers. They are John Wempi Wetipo as Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Afriansyah Noor as Deputy Minister of Manpower, and Raja Juli Antoni as Deputy Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN).
