Man Who Burns Himself On The Edge Of Ciliwung River, Allegedly In Debt

JAKARTA - The man with the initials IB (49) was found dead on the edge of the Ciliwung river, Jalan Gunung Sahari, Central Jakarta. He was found in a charred state.

"It is suspected that it was the person concerned with self-immolation," said Chief of Criminal Investigation of Sawah Besar Police, Iptu Wildan to VOI, Monday, October 26.

This allegation is based on the results of investigations by examining family witnesses and those in the vicinity at the time of the incident, Sunday, October 25 evening. This allegation was also strengthened by finding evidence such as used gasoline and matches.

"Burn yourself using gasoline and matches," he said.

According to him, the victim was desperate to do this because of economic problems. However, unfortunately this cannot be conveyed in full,

"Debt problems or others (family witnesses) cannot tell the story," he said.

It's just that, based on family information, this man has been experiencing economic pressure for a long time. In fact, about three years ago he had tried to end his life.
