Commission II Immediately Choose 3 Names Of Candidates For DKPP Members

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission II of the House of Representatives (DPR), Junimart Girsang, confirmed that the commission will determine the names of three candidates for members of the Honorary Election Organizing Council (DKPP) on Monday.

"Before the determination of the candidate for DKPP members, Commission II of the DPR will hold a Leadership Meeting (Rapim) at 13.00 WIB. After that, at 14.00 WIB, there is a plenary meeting with members of Commission II of the DPR to decide the names of the candidates for DKPP members from the Indonesian House of Representatives", said Junimart in Jakarta, Monday, June 13.

Commission II of the DPR has not been able to ensure that the mechanism for determining the candidates for DKPP members is carried out through deliberation or voting.

According to him, the mechanism will be determined in the DPR Commission II Leadership Meeting which will be held on Monday afternoon.

Junimart said that there were several considerations for Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives in determining candidates for members of the Indonesian Honorary Election Organizing Council, one of which was the aspect of integrity.

"Integrity, understanding the basis for the formation of DKPP, understanding ethical values because DKPP involves ethics in actions and actions", he said as quoted from Antara.

Previously, a Member of the Honorary Election Organizers Council (DKPP), Ida Budhiati, said the number of cases of violations of the election organizers' code of ethics being tried was less than 50 percent of all complaints during the period from June 12, 2012, to June 8, 2022.

"Cumulatively for 10 years, DKPP has always been consistent that cases set for trial are always below 50 percent", Ida Budhiati told reporters at the DKPP Reflection for the 2017-2022 Period in Jakarta, Wednesday, June 8.

Based on the accumulated data, DKPP has decided 1,962 cases out of 7,942 defendants examined. So, according to Ida, members of the election management body in Indonesia are still vulnerable to being the target of public dissatisfaction with the election process.

Through the comparative picture of the case, he continued, DKPP plays a role as a guard of honor from expressing public dissatisfaction, especially those carried out without justifiable reasons.
