Police Collect CCTV Evidence To Reveal Case Of Motorcycle Gang Assault In Gambir

JAKARTA - The Gambir Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit is still conducting an in-depth investigation regarding the attack on a group of motorcycle gangs to residential areas in Kebon Pala Village, Gambir District, Central Jakarta.

One resident with the initials R (19) was reported to have suffered lacerations from a sharp weapon stabbed in his body and received 20 stitches.

Gambir Metro Police Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, Kompol Andika Aris Prasetiya, said that his party was still carrying out investigations by examining a number of witnesses and CCTV footage around the scene.

"The characteristics of which group are not yet (known), are still conducting an in-depth investigation," said Kompol Andika when contacted by VOI, Thursday, June 9, afternoon.

Police are still investigating the group of motorcycle gang perpetrators who were found carrying out attacks and mistreatment of residents. Several witnesses are still being questioned.

"We have examined 9 witnesses, including children, shop owners at the scene," he said.

Meanwhile, from the statement of the victim of the stabbing to the police officer, he admitted that he did not recognize the perpetrators of the attack.

"He does not know the perpetrators. However, it is certain that the group of attackers is a motorcycle gang, because they came from more than 20 motorbikes," he said.

Meanwhile, from the CCTV camera footage, the police confiscated a number of CCTV footage from 4 locations.

"The CCTV that was checked had 4 points but because it happened at dawn, we could only see them in a convoy. We can't confirm that (the racers at Monas), we are still investigating," he concluded.
