MATARAM - The Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the Mataram Corruption Court (PN) has sued Slamet Waloejo, the defendant in the alleged corruption case in the construction of the Gili Air pier in 2017 with a penalty of 1.5 years in prison.

Slamet is the Director of CV Karya Mahardika 97, a consultant supervising the dock construction project in the Gili Air tourist area. The Public Prosecutor stated that the demands for considering the defendant's actions as a director of a supervisory consulting company had fulfilled the subsidiary charges.

"We hereby demand that the panel of judges sentence the defendant to 1.5 years in prison or one year and six months with a fine of Rp. 50 million, subsidiary to three months in prison," said Public Prosecutor Ema Muliawati before the Corruption Court of Mataram, Tuesday, June 7.

The subsidiary indictment outlines Article 3 Juncto Article 18 of Law No. 20/2001 on Amendments to Law No. 31/1999 on Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.

However, according to the Antara report, Ema conveyed that the prosecutor did not find any evidence that revealed evidence of the defendant enjoying or receiving funds from the state budget, both from the results of witness examinations and documents in the trial attendance.

So that Article 18 paragraph 1 letter b of the Law on the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in a subsidiary indictment which requires a refund of state losses, the public prosecutor requested that the panel of judges ignore this.

The rest, the prosecutor conveyed the considerations that eased the charge regarding the defendant's good faith in an effort to recover state losses of Rp.782 million based on the results of expert calculations. The defendant showed good faith by depositing Rp50 million to the prosecutor.

The emergence of losses from the dock construction project in the Gili Air tourist area at the North Lombok Regency Transportation, Maritime and Fisheries Service, Fiscal Year 2017, was evidenced from a study by construction experts. It was found that there was a lack of work volume with a compensation value of Rp. 98.138 million.

In addition, in the physical project with a contract value of Rp6.28 billion, another loss emerged, namely from overpayment which included three items. Its value reaches Rp. 684.238 million.

Slamet Waloejo who gave the company power of attorney to another defendant, Luqmanul Hakim, was also involved in the approval of changes to the volume of erection work that was not based on technical studies or contract addendums.

Luqmanul Hakim and the defendant Slamet Waloejo, Director of CV Karya Mahardika 97, were also proven to be the masterminds behind the publication of the recapitulation of the progress of the work which stated that it had reached 100 percent weighting, but in fact the work had not been completed.
