Kamron, Lost In North Konawe Forest Found In Central Sulawesi, 15 Km From Original Location

JAKARTA - A middle-aged farmer named Kamron (55) who was reported missing, in the forest of Tetewatu Village, North Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi, was finally found safe in the Central Sulawesi region.

Head of Basarnas Kendari Aris Sofingi said the victim was found safe by residents of Laronai Village, Bungku Pesisir District, Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi, about 15 km from the last location reported missing.

"At 13:20 WITA, we received information from Mr. Nasir, the village head of Samandete, who reported that the victim had been found by the people of Laronai Village, safe in the Laronai forest", said Aris, Monday, June 6, quoted from Antara.

He said that residents who found the middle-aged man then evacuated to the Bungku Pesisi Health Center while waiting for the victim's family to come to pick him up.

The search for victims who are residents of Tetewatu Village, Wiwirano District, North Konawe involves joint personnel from the North Konawe Alert Unit Rescue Team, Wiwirano Police, Langgikima Koramil, Fire Service, BPBD, local communities and the victims' families.

The victim reportedly headed to the garden, on Sunday June 5 at around 08.00 WITA, along with 16 colleagues who were on the border between Southeast Sulawesi Province and Central Sulawesi.

Then, at 17.05 WITA, the victims' colleagues returned to their original place where they had been before they disbanded, but only the victims had not returned. The victim's motorbike was still at the location, until the incident was reported to Basarnas.

"With the discovery of the victim, the SAR operation is declared complete and closed, all elements involved are returned to their respective units", said Aris.
